How to get to Denia from Germany, France and the UK

Denia is on the Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante, in southeast Spain. Well connected by air, road and sea, getting there from the main European countries is easier than it might seem.

From Germany

The fastest and most comfortable option from Germany is a direct flight to Alicante airport (ALC). From Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Stuttgart there are direct flights with Lufthansa, Eurowings and Ryanair, especially in high season. The flight takes between 2h15 and 2h45. From Alicante airport, Denia is about 90 kilometres away — roughly 1 hour by hire car.

From France

From France there are two main options. A flight from Paris Charles de Gaulle or Lyon to Alicante or Valencia — both less than 2 hours from Denia by car. Also very popular is driving via the AP-7 motorway along the Costa Brava and Costa Blanca. From the Spanish border at La Jonquera it is about 6-7 hours to Denia.

From the UK

From the UK there are direct flights to Alicante from London Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Edinburgh with easyJet, Ryanair and British Airways. The flight takes between 2h30 and 2h45. Valencia airport is also an option, about 100 km from Denia.

Getting from the airport to Denia

The most comfortable option is a hire car — available at both airports with all major companies. There is also a direct bus from Alicante to Denia with ALSA, taking approximately 2 hours. From Valencia there is a train connection to Gandía and from there a bus to Denia.

By ferry from Ibiza and Mallorca

In summer, Baleàlia Lines operates a direct ferry service between Ibiza and Denia, and between Palma de Mallorca and Denia. The crossing takes between 2 and 4 hours depending on the departure point.
